How to clean candle holders
Soak in water
No need to prematurely clean the adhering wax. Instead, soak the candlesticks in a bowl of very hot water for 5 minutes. And then brush off the softened wax with an old toothbrush. Using a toothpick or match, remove wax from hard-to-reach bends and curls. Wipe off any remaining soot and deposits with a soft abrasive sponge. Rinse the candlesticks in warm, soapy water.
Candlesticks that cannot be soaked in water can be put in the freezer for 2-3 hours, and then brush off pieces of wax with a brush, match or toothpick. If the item’s dimensions do not allow it to be put in the freezer, try directing a stream of hot air from a hairdryer onto them. After a few minutes, the wax softens and can be removed.
